Today’s Marketing Monday is about… Time and how to use it wisely!

Hi guys. Amanda here from Koogar.

Today is Marketing Monday (watch over on the Koogar Facebook Page), my second one, and I thought I would talk to you about time. Recently, I’ve been speaking to a couple that I met last week, last Thursday. We talked about working with me with regards to marketing their business, marketing who they are, what they do, and how they do it. One of the things that popped up is that the gentleman that I was with was saying that he hasn’t got enough time.

Today, the reason why Marketing Monday Facebook Live is a little bit late is because I went networking this morning. I went networking, and in the end, I actually delivered a presentation, 14 ways on growth and expansion for your business. Obviously, there’s a few bits of marketing in there. I put myself forward because the lady who was supposed to turn up and deliver the presentation hadn’t turned because of the snow and the weather. I did that this morning, and that’s why I’m late.

But, the reason why I wanted to talk to you today was about time because the people in the room when I went networking today, they were talking about time, that they haven’t got enough time.

So, do you feel the same way?

Do you feel like you’ve not got enough hours in the day? Do you feel like you’re juggling so much that whether it’s a family, whether it’s a business partner, whether it’s a clients, actually doing the work itself, you juggling all of this kind of stuff and you just haven’t got time to market yourself?

Well, one of the things that I talk about, if you haven’t heard me speak already, is about working like you’re going on holiday. So, we are just about to go on holiday. We’re about to break up for Christmas period. We’re about to close the office, and you’re probably doing the same. You’re going to take some time off over Christmas, hopefully. And the time that you do take off over Christmas is time that you’re going to be spending with family, friends, speaking to people that you haven’t seen for a while, spending quality time with the people that you want to spend quality time with.

But, time is really important, and there’s two factors to time. There’s wasting your own time, which is potentially some of us do, and there is also having others waste our time. Now, to me, time is precious. To me, you can’t get time back. This is for everybody. And, how you use your time is very important. If somebody wastes my time, do you know what? I can’t tell, I get so frustrated and so annoyed. If I walk up to a meeting expecting them to be there and they don’t turn up, and that happened to me at the weekend, really annoying, just angers me. It just takes a text message, or a phone call, or an email, whatever it is that’s easier to let that person know.

Anyway, to save your time, because that’s what today’s about, to save your time, it’s about thinking about going on holiday. We’ve all been on holiday. We’ve all been somewhere, whether it’s either to the beach or we’re going to break up for Christmas now, we’ve all been on holiday. So what I want you to think about is when you do go on holiday, the week running up to that holiday, you have made a mammoth list of things for you to do, everything that you need to get done before you pack, everything that you need to be done whilst you’re packing, what needs to go in your case so you don’t forget things, passports, all of that kind of stuff.

What I want you to think about is when you think that you haven’t got enough time, you need to work out what you’re actually doing. Are you busy doing nothing? Are you busy faffing around? Are you on Facebook? A lady said to me today she is a really good procrastinator, so she will spend her time finding other things to do instead of the things that she should be doing, the things that she knows that she should be doing.

What I want you to think about is when you haven’t got enough time, work like you’re going on holiday every single day. Because when you go on holiday, you tend to get the majority of stuff, if not everything, done. You write that list down. You make sure that you’ve got enough time, and you work like a Trojan. Yeah? Do you agree? So when you do that, you actually get stuff done.

What tends to happens in business is that we have got the distraction of a telephone, a mobile phone, text messages, people knocking at the door and dropping off Christmas presents, whatever it may be, the phone ringing, new clients, and that’s not a distraction, but it’s something that takes your mind away from your actually doing. And actually, when you’re working on a particular thing and you’re really focused on that thing, it takes you a little while. Once you’ve been distracted, it takes you 10, 15, maybe 30, 45 minutes later for you to get back into that mindset. So, what I want you to do is concentrate on one thing at a time, but also work like you’re going on holiday tomorrow. So come 5 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 7 o’clock, whatever time you start work or finish work, work like you’re going on holiday tomorrow.

So, what are those things that you have to get done today? What are the most important things? And don’t make a list that is like 30 things long. You know, what are the top five, six things that you have to get done that you cannot leave, it has to be done? Make sure that you get those done for that day. These are what I call H.P.A’s, high payoff activities. Things are things that get my back focused.

Today, I’m sat at my desk. I’m not, usually. I’m usually downstairs delivering the Facebook live, but today, I’m sat at my desk, and I have a big calendar on my desk. In front of me, it gives every single day of what I’m actually doing on those days. It tells me what I’ve got to achieve. So, what are you doing when it comes to marketing? Because one of the things that people say is that they haven’t got enough time, but they actually don’t know how much time that thing is going to take them. They think it’s potentially going to be five minutes. Nothing is ever five minutes. You’ve got to take your mind away from what you’re currently doing, get in the process of what you wanting to do, do that work, deliver it, work on it, do it, test it, check it, send it. Then, you sit for a bit and then say, “Right, what is my next task?”

Nothing really ever takes five minutes, and the things that do take five minutes, or under five minutes, just do them straight away.

Don’t procrastinate. Don’t wait. Just get on and do it.

What I want you to concentrate on today, I want everybody to concentrate on … You’ve got two weeks, less than two weeks till Christmas. We’ve got this week and next week, and then a couple of days after that. There’s not much, depending on when you’re breaking up, so there’s not much time. What is it that you want to get done by the end of this year? By the end of Christmas? What jobs do you want to complete? What housework do you want to do before you actually break up? Who do you need to contact before you close for Christmas? Is there clients that you need to speak to and say, “Would you like, instead of doing something before Christmas, maybe in between Christmas, if you work in between Christmas, or after? You know, what are doing first, second, third week of January?” Try and get those things that you have to do done.

Don’t, as I said, don’t create this massive list that’s going to take you forever because list, you know, they’re great. Sometimes I add things on to that list so I can just tick it off and cross it off anyway, because I like ticking, crossing, and showing myself that I’ve done stuff. However, it’s not best use of your time. What I want you to think about is you’re going on holiday every single day. You choose the destination. You choose whether it’s where you live, if you’re going to shops, if you’re just having a staycation or you’re going to go away to, I don’t know, Bermuda, or Thailand, or where it is, just pretend, but just make sure that you’re concentrating on your H.P.As, high payoff activities, okay?

The final thing I would like to leave you with is that the Marketing Masterclasses, they start in January, on the eighth of January. You’ve still got a couple of days until the price goes up. So, the price goes up on the 22nd of December. If you pay before the 22nd of December, you will get the whole year for £150. That works out £12.50 per session. So I’m going to do a live master class on 12 different subjects. I’m going to pop the link below so you can see it. 12 different subjects.

During that time, during that month, you are able to join our Facebook group. You will also have access to a membership site as well. So if you can’t make the day, it’s going to be recorded anyway. I’m going to record it for you, and I’m going to give you extra resources, and extra bits and pieces that you need to be doing, exercises, things to think about to action that thing that we’ve talked about that month, because what I want you to do is going to more from your marketing.

A lot of people worry about time. They worry about what other people are going to say. They haven’t got anybody to keep you accountable. And if you know who I am, I will make sure that you do your homework. I need you to make sure that you do your homework because whatever is important to you, whether it’s growth of the business, more hits to the website, more people knowing people who you are, more likes on Facebook, more business generally, a better message, understanding who your customer is. All of these different kinds of things, they all help you get to where you want to be.

I’ll pop the link in, and just remember, work on your H.P.A’s, high payoff activities, okay? You’re going on holiday tomorrow.

What do you need to get done?

Thanks, and I’ll see you next week. Take care.

[Video] #MarketingMonday – How to brand yourself with the other things that happen all around the world…

#MarketingMonday

Marketing Monday is new! I’ve decided to challenge myself to create more video for the new year and this is one way that will help me do that.

I’ll be sharing advice, tips, tricks and observations about all things Marketing.

Today’s is… How to brand yourself with the other things that happen all around the world…

Hi! Amanda from Koogar here. I decided over the weekend that I would like to do a Facebook Live every Monday. I have challenged myself. Video isn’t my favourite marketing tool but I’ve decided to run a Marketing Monday Facebook Live every Monday around about 11:00 and discuss various different bits and pieces and give you a tip or a trick or just help you think about marketing in a different way.

Today is about how to brand yourself with other things, other activities that are happening around the world. And what I wanted to talk about was things like we’ve just had Black Friday, we’ve had Cyber Monday and I don’t know whether you know but there is a Green Monday as well. The Green Day actually happens on the 11th of December and Green Day was started by eBay. It was started by eBay and called Green Day number one because of the colour of money and number two because the 11th of December is actually the 2nd largest Internet selling day.

A lot of people don’t know that. There are things that happen in America and across the world that we don’t actually do or get involved in like for example Singles Day.

Singles Day happens on the 11th of November and that happens over in China and again that’s one massive online eCommerce sales splurge, where people just go online on the 11th of November and spend money. Whether that’s on electric goods, clothing, cars, whatever it is, it’s on the Alibaba site if you haven’t heard of that. It’s a massive site. The site looks horrendous (it’s actually now a lot better than it was – Updated 19/01/2018) but actually it gets quite a lot of hits and it gets a lot of income and traffic as well.

The reason why we wouldn’t in the UK or in the West really wouldn’t use or decide to become part of Singles Day is because it’s run on the 11th of November and that’s the same day as Remembrance Day. Here Remembrance Day is obviously very important. It’s a sombre day. It’s a day where we remember the fallen and remember people who have been in war(s) and things like that. Having a day where you would spend a lot of money online on that day wouldn’t be appropriate for us but it is appropriate in different places.

But what I really wanted to focus on was Green Day. Again that’s on that 11th of December. That’s a week today!

Green Day as I said is the largest, or the second largest selling day. Like Cyber Monday and Black Friday, largest selling day in the world, (I repeat!) the second largest selling day in the world.

What are you going to do for Green Day?

As I said Green Day was created for eBay and created for the colour of money but also because eBay is more of a recycling thing. Selling second-hand things so they thought that it was good day. That was set up in 2007 and it’s been going on since then. Today, well next week will be the 10th year of Green Day.

I just wanted to, as I said, let you know about Green Day and ask you what you’re going to do about it. Also, a good way of helping you brand yourself and with the little things that are happening around the world is having a look at things like Project Britain. I don’t know whether you’ve heard of that.

Project Britain shares with you special days so what’s going on in the UK, what’s going on around the world, and AwarenessDays.com is a little website where you can sign up actually to get a template and various spreadsheets and tools to help you market yourself alongside things like Mental Health Day or World Aids Day or Immigration Day or all of those different kinds of things.

I’ll pop a link a little bit further down in the comments later on but I just thought I would pop in, say hello, happy Monday. Only a couple of weeks left until Christmas. Christmas is on a Monday and I shan’t be doing a #MarketingMonday on Christmas Day as I will be doing other things, just like you. Yeah, so I hope that’s helpful. Hope that’s useful.

Have a think about Green Day, which is the 11th of December, a week today and what you’re actually going to promote or tell people about. Maybe you’re going to send an email. Maybe you’re going to do a Facebook Live. Maybe you’re going to put a special offer out. Whatever it may be. Have a look at it and have a look at Green Day and see what you can do and see if you can get some more sales into your business before the end of the year.

That’s Amanda from Koogar. I hope that’s been helpful. Also just to let you know, you’ve still got a couple of days to join the Monthly Marketing Masterclasses. They start on the 8th of January and they are live Masterclasses with me discussing various marketing activities you should be doing over the next 12 months and if you sign up before December the 22nd you actually get each session for £12.50 each, which works out about £150 pounds. Well, it is £150 pounds for the year.

We’re going to be talking about email marketing, we’re going to be talking about advertising and how to find out who your perfect client is. We’re going to be talking about video, social media, branding. There’s so much that we’re going to talk about.

You have a Facebook Secret Group and you also have an Academy where you can watch the Facebook Lives at a later stage so if you either can’t make the date we will record it for you anyway but if you wanted to watch that particular one about avatars and perfect customers and all of that kind of stuff at a later time then you can do that too.

Thanks for watching and I’ll be back next Monday at 11:00-ish to talk to you about something else.

Have a great day and I hope you can get some more customers this week before Christmas.

Take care.

19 Ideas for the final Marketing push for Christmas

19 Ideas for the final Marketing push for Christmas

Christmas Marketing IdeasWe are now nearing the end of November and are looking to hit targets for the end of the month, quarter and year!

So, what else can we do to ensure that we hit our KPI’s for 2017? We all have them, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on things you can do to smash your targets!

Here are 19 marketing ideas to keep you going till the end of the year…

  1. Add Christmas to your branding – Make sure people can see that you are getting into the swing of Christmas by bringing in festive imagery, audio and videography where you can. Show them you are getting in the mood.
  2. Share holiday themes updates – Social Media is about being social and a lot of people now start getting everything bought by October! So be in the forefront of their mind when it comes to the people to buy from!
  3. Reward your followers – If they share, like or comment on something reward your followers with something. It’s doesn’t have to have a monetary value, it could be points towards a purchase, an extra 30 minutes FREE. Get creative!
  4. Be helpful – What does your audience need on the run up to Christmas? Ideas and suggestions of what they could or should buy… Be helpful by showing them what you have available.
  5. Launch Christmas Specific Themed Campaigns – This can be put across several different marketing activities like Email Marketing, Facebook Adverts or Twitter Polls. Get your audience in the mood so that you are the first brand they think of when it comes to Christmas.
  6. Go Green with a Digital Portfolio – Don’t just have a printed catalogue ensure that it is digital with links straight to your products, so they can get to them quickly and easily. Remember a lot of your audience works and don’t have much time to be shopping around for things! Make it easy for people to buy from you. Sprinkle a Paypal button here and there…
  7. Create a sense of Urgency – This is about having a specific call to action by telling them they have a certain date and or time that they need to purchase something by before the price goes up or they can’t purchase it after this time!
  8. Host a Christmas Event – Why not invite your clients; past, current and new to a location of your choosing with Mince Pies, Sherry and Carol Singers and a look at your new collections whilst they are there. This is invitation only, so you can ensure the right people are in the room at the right time!
  9. Collaborate – Get together with other businesses that have the same audience as you but don’t do what you do. For example; a clothing store could work wonders if you sell jewellery. If their audience is going to a Christmas event them they may also want something sparkly to go with it!
  10. Christmas theme Competition – How can you work up a frenzy with your followers so that they win something wonderful for Christmas. This doesn’t just have to be a piece of jewellery but could go with a meal for two as well. Push the boat out… It is Christmas after all.
  11. Get personal with Cards and use Snail Mail! – Sending a card in the post is what an older generation love! It makes them feel like you care about them. For the younger generation it could help them remember you are there and that they should pop in on their way past!
  12. Create gift bundles/packages – You have many items that would go well together. Why not create a special package for this Christmas only where you get something else that you would normally go for? This is called the “Amazon Effect” – People who have bought this have also bought this. You are just one step ahead by offering the two together. Black Friday is on its way!
  13. Christmas Decorations and Smells – Christmas shopping makes people feel warm and fuzzy, getting to have some time off to themselves and with the family, treating themselves and others with treats and gifts. Make them feel at home with decorations and smells.
  14. Use Christmas Keywords – Obviously you know the importance of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and keywords in everyday marketing but now is the time you should start using Christmas hashtags so that you can join inn those conversation and start trending alongside other brands. Using them on your website, Facebook, Instagram and twitter!
  15. 12 days of a Giveaway – On the 12th day of Christmas my brand gave to me…. Again, get all eyes on your brand and products so they keep coming back for more!
  16. Have a stand in a Market – Have a stand where you wouldn’t normally have one! Be where your competition isn’t! The footfall is there so you should be too! Even if it’s just about directing people back to the shop and digital showing them on an iPad what you have in store!
  17. Ask for a referral! One referral a year from each of your clients doubles your business over night! You can give them something for a referral, but they should never get it until that new person has purchased.
  18. Create a specific Christmas Landing page – You can add ALL your Christmas offers and gift promotions in one place, making it easier for your audience to buy something quickly instead of trawling the Internet show them the perfect gift they have been looking for!
  19. Customer Christmas Treats – Branding on chocolates, cakes and treats is easier than ever before. Get a batch of cupcakes made and branded so that each purchaser will get one in their bag when they leave.

So, there you go, 19 ideas to help you over the next 32 days to help you get more awareness and sales over the Christmas period!

Do let me know which you decided to go for and what worked for you… Id love to see what you have been up to and how this blog post has helped.

How to write your own Press Release and distribute it

How to write your own Press Release and distribute it

Press ReleaseLet me tell you that Koogar “don’t do” PR HOWEVER we are asked regularly about Press Releases, how to write them, where to put them and how to get in the papers.

I thought it would be useful for me to write what I have told others.

“We believe PR should be practiced to serve the public interest, to develop mutual understanding between organizations and their publics.” – James E. Grunig

You may have some great news, new products or services that are happening in your business write now and you want to tell the world, but you haven’t got any press experience.

Social media has helped everyone write their own stories to tell the world. There are some basics when it comes to writing a press release and some great tools out there that can push you out further than you have ever imagined.

So where do you start?

Is your story any good?

Having a new product or service is great for your business but is it worth being put into a paper? Ask yourself the following questions when it comes to your story:

  • Is it new; like no one has ever done anything like this before?
  • Is it unusual; no one has ever seen this before or it’s a VERY rare thing?
  • Is it interesting; and if it is interesting who would be interested in it?
  • So what?; this is where you look at your story to find out why someone would care about it. With this question you need to ask yourself the question “so what 3-4 times” as your answers will get more and more specific! Why should people care?

Who is this story for?

Who is going to be interested in reading it, sharing it, liking, commenting and maybe purchasing it. You know me, first things first… Who is the target audience for this piece of news? Once you have the ideal reader in your head, start writing and tell your story to them!

Subject line or Title

Depending on where you will be sending or uploading your press release depends on which one you need. If you are sending an email to your local paper or magazine, then you need a subject line that will make people want to open your email to them!

Title is for if you are adding your press release to your website as a blog article.

Obviously, we must stand out and be interesting at the same time!

Here is a great infographic on how to create a catching headline.

Body of the Content

The first sentence should cover the who, what, why and how about your story! This will grab the journalist and give them a good idea what your story is about and that they should keep reading!

Your press release should be compact and an easy read! One page is best but two is maximum.

Inside the body of content, you will need the following:

  • Intro – start with a bang that will make the read what to find out more!
  • Source – How do you know about this thing? Show knowledge and experience to give you credibility
  • Details – facts and figures are important. Give the journalist as much information you think they will need without overwhelming them or stuffing your press release with useless information
  • Quote – from a person who was there, has bought one or from the company owner
  • Additional information – This is where you can add the extra stuff if you really need it n there
  • Ends – Type in Ends so they know this is the end of your press release
  • High Quality Photograph – showing you with the product/service, in the location of the item you are talking about

Avoid – long sentences, repeating the same thing and jargon

Distribution

Before you distribute your content, you MUST…

  • Spell Check – this is obvious HOWEVER some don’t do it. So, do get someone or a few people to check it over for you. The other good thing about this is that they may tell you that you have forgotten an important bit or remove something as its less important.

Now that you have written your press release ensure that it gets to the people who can do the most with it. The journalists. Have a look at your local and national editions and find the name of the person you should get in touch with and email them.

I would also send something in the post to show them you are very keen to get into their publication.

Distribution ideas:

  • If you don’t want to do it yourself, speak with a PR company who can get it out there for you.
  • Check out “PR in a Box” which helps business owners and marketing managers manage their own PR! – https://prinabox.com/
  • Add it to your website as a blog article
  • Share on social media, in forums and on other local websites to you. Press Releases are no longer JUST for papers.
  • Send out printed copies to local businesses, giving it a personal touch
  • Check out the has tag #journorequest on twitter as journalists are always looking for new news stories – https://twitter.com/hashtag/journorequest?lang=en

For Ideas and Suggestions

Sometimes its hard to write this document by yourself and to show others why its such important news that they need to know about. So why not join a group that is there to help and inspire you specifically with PR? – https://www.facebook.com/groups/SoulfulPRcommunity

I’ve seen Janet Murray speak and she was great!

I was already a part of Janet’s Facebook Group before I heard her speak I joined her Facebook group that gives out ideas, suggestions and more every day. Get involved in the conversation and see what you can learn from others for free.

There is a lot more you can do with press releases and PR firms and consultants can go a lot more in depth than I can, but you can write your own.

Let me know how you get on…

Top 4 Functions in Twitter and how you can make FULL use of them!

Top 4 Functions in Twitter and how you can make FULL use of them!

Functionality of TwitterYou’ve possibly heard talk about “The DEATH of Twitter” and how long it will be around for?

Even though Twitter still has a major thriving community of users.

 – Yes, there is a lot of information in your news feed all at once

 – Yes, you cannot take it all in and WILL miss most of it

 – BUT! You are able to join into other people’s conversations freely

To me, twitter still has its place in the social world, even though it hasn’t made many changes of late because you can do a lot with it!

Here are 4 of the best functions twitter has to offer you and how you should take full advantage of them;

Advanced Search

Search is an everyday part of our lives now, whether that is on our phones, google, computers, tablets, etc. Twitters’ advanced search is perfect for marketers. If you are looking for customers, you can and if you want to measure sentiment or happiness of customers you can do that too!

Twitter Advanced Search

Searching tweets for keywords and phrases is what advance search was built for and they don’t have to be hashtags!

There are over 11 search segments that you can filter against on Twitter. Here are 7:

  • Contains all of these words
  • From these accounts
  • Positive tone
  • Question
  • Include retweets
  • Written in – a language
  • Near – certain place / geolocation

Other filters include media, @ referencing people/brands, negative attitudes and more!

[spp-tweet tweet=”Twitter allows you to save up to 25 searches in your account which means you can go back to them time and time again!”]

You can find most popular tweets which could help with your content creation, monitor mentions, filter out competitors as well as search their tweets and find news about your company.

View questions only about your products or services. There is a ton of market research you can do using twitters advanced search.

In my opinion, twitters advance search after google is one of the best around!

Hashtags

Hashtags started on Twitter in 2007 to differentiate a message that was being sent and everyone seems to have taken them in as part of their social platform.

Twitter Hashtags

Hashtags allow people to search for anything and everything associated with it. By adding hashtags to your posts on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+ and so on you are able to have your content seen as your updates become searchable and more discoverable than ever before.

Looking at the news feed for a hashtag specifically will show you the depth and breadth that others have used it for.

[spp-tweet tweet=”The # symbol is actually known as the pound sign to which is an abbreviation of weight.”]

By placing this symbol in front of a word or a phrase on social media will turn the word or phrase into a metadata tag. There can be no symbols like / or – in-between the words as this will break the hashtag up.

Have a look at #marketing, #socialmedia or a product or service you deliver to see what comes up.

4 don’ts for hashtags:

  1. DON’T hashtag everything
  2. DON’T make the word or phrase too long
  3. DON’T be clever with it… Allow people to spell it
  4. DON’T have more hashtags than words

Lists

A Twitter List is a curated group of twitter accounts and lists are the best way to collate specific tweets in one news stream.

Twitter Lists

You can create your own lists which can be either public (where anyone can follow you) or private (only you have access to it).

You should think of lists as categories, labels or folders for your followers and customise them based on a keyword, interest or sector. Something recognisable to you and them.

People can automatically add you to lists and put you in a place where they can see what you are up to regularly, this is the ultimate way to segment tweets. So instead of looking at your news feed and getting over whelmed, you can create lists based on different topics, people, sectors or industry’s (whatever you like) and follow so you can see tweets regularly.

[spp-tweet tweet=”You are allowed to add up to 500 people in a twitter list and can have up to 20 lists.”]

Great for running events to see who uses your hashtag(s), create a client base (which would be private) so you can see what they are talking about and to put experts, inspiration or motivators into one place so you get that kind of content at once.

Please ensure that if you have a public list the name is a good one as people can see them and will be notified that you have added them to it! You never want to get caught out!

Analytics

When you are logged into Twitter, visit the following page – https://analytics.twitter.com and you will find a full analytics suite showing you if your tweets are engaging, which are the most popular, how many profile visits you have had, mentions, etc.

Twitter Analytics

But not only this it can more in depth into your audience on Twitter by Gender, Location and Language. Possibly information you haven’t seen before or have looked at.

This functionality in twitter shows you what content resonates with your followers and what you should be sharing more of. Understanding the content, you have shared that has had the most engagement allows you to share more of the same to get your audience to give you the retweets and favourites that you are after!

Analytics also shows you the best days you should tweet and when people are most likely to be on twitter to see your tweets which all comes from your own account NOT based on “Social Media Gurus” thoughts of when everyone should be posting.

Get to know your followers based on their demographics is great because the way you talk to a 20-year-old is different to how you would talk to a 50-year-old person. Obviously, you want to treat them both with respect but their understanding of the whole, life, brands, products, etc WILL be different.

Finally, you are able to see you if Twitter Ads are working. Have you tried advertising on Twitter yet? The best part about this is you can test your tweets to see if they are getting engagement BEFORE you promote it as an Ad!

I have only scratched the surface of the functionality you can use within Twitter but these are by far for me the best 4 available to you! There are a few more functionalities you can use within Twitter that you could take full advantage of like the Moments.

Review this functionality and see how it changes your way of Tweeting!

How to blog, even when you don’t know what to say…

How to blog, even when you don’t know what to say…

What to say when bloggingBefore I start, can you answer the following three questions:

1: Are you unsure why you should be blogging?

2: Unsure what to write about when it comes to blogging?

3: Do you want more traffic to your website?

If you have answered yes to one or all of these questions, then blogging is the next marketing activity you should get into, if you haven’t done so already.

What is blogging?

Blog is short for weblog, which is essentially an article or a diary entry on your website about your company or you. Blogging is also a way of expressing yourself, your opinion about the products, services and the world if you wanted too. There is no limit to the type of content you can talk about.

Some people find writing a relief and perfect expression of themselves.

Some people don’t think they can write (and many can’t) however, this is about adding your own personality, stamp and brand behind your opinions.

People buy from people and they do care about what YOU think.

But WHY should you blog?

Blogging is essentially a form of search engine optimisation for your website and content marketing. When done well, blogging will give your website a more organic rank in the search engine.

If you think about how you use the internet yourself, when you are searching for a product or service on Google or Bing, the keywords you are typing in should bring up the most relevant websites for you there and then.

This is also based on your geographic location.

Therefore, you should be blogging and how you will naturally get more traffic to your website.

You actually have A LOT to say!

In fact, we all do!

Being unsure about WHAT to say comes when you think the information you want to share is potentially boring or no one would want to read it. The reason you think this is because YOU know the information already.

When it comes to ANY form of marketing, we should be thinking WHY we are doing it and what is the call to action for the reader because of it.

If a person reads your blog, what outcome do you want from that?

For Koogar, its about being seen as the expert in our field and then for the reader to eventually turn into a customer based on what we have to say. We want them to come back time and time again to read our information, which not only gives us more hits to the website but also shows us what type of content is relevant to our readers.

To know what to say, you need to understand your reader/perfect client first.

Here are 6 questions to ask yourself:

  1. What do they search for?
  2. What do they want to know about the products or services you have?
  3. How and when do they make the decision to buy?
  4. Why have they bought from you and not someone else?
  5. What is in fashion/trending/on the news now?
  6. What questions/f.a.q’s are your customers currently asking you or your team?

You may find this information boring but I’m sure you would ask several questions if you were going to buy something for yourself or someone else.

Questions lead to answers, answers lead to customer rapport and customer rapport leads to profit – Jay Conrad-Levinson

Ask you customers what challenges they face when buying something for someone and answer that question on your website.

What next?

Just because you have written a blog doesn’t mean that everyone will see it or that it should just stay on your website.

[spp-tweet tweet=”You should share your content across the numerous marketing platforms you use for business.”]

People consume content in many different ways and if your customer needs to see your “message” between 7 – 15 times BEFORE they buy then you need to keep sharing.

Sharing doesn’t mean just in that day or week you could re-share content over the year IF its relevant. This is called “evergreen” content. T can be shared in your email marketing, on Instagram using an image and some text to point people to where you want them to go.

Blogs could be turned into Vlogs. A vlog is a video log which is a video article or diary entry. It maybe that you want to show someone HOW to wear a certain product and what kind of clothes you would wear it with.

This can be done with collaboration with other types of businesses that have the same kind of customer that you do but don’t sell what you sell.

Blogging along with all other marketing activities should be brought into your marketing mix and used alongside all other marketing activities within your business. This is called Integrated Marketing…
