Jonathan McCourt Interview

Jonathan is coming to work with Koogar for the next 6 months by creating case studies. Jonathan is currently doing a degree in John Moores University in Liverpool and here is a little more information about him…

My full name is Jonathan McCourt – no middle name, just Jonathan…

Born in and raised in Hill Dale, Ormskirk all my life, but currently live in Kensington term time.

I’m currently doing a Media, Cultural Studies and Marketing degree. The media and cultural studies part is opinion based and the marketing side of things is about International Marketing.

In 2008, I made a documentary called “Liverpool Lives” and its about what Liverpool means to people.

In 2009, I’m going to be making a music video with a group of 4 others (I’m the only boy!). We are going to be re-creating the Hot Chip song called “Over and over”, and I’m excited to be working on this project…

I decided to do this degree because my brother did journalism and he inspired me. I wanted to stand out from the crowd by creating something different…

My ideal job would be to be involved in advertising and marketing. Less design and more of the management and planning side of things. I like coming up with the ideas and I want to develop the hands on work.

“Working for someone like Sache and Sache would be amazing.”

I got a link from the graduation and development centre asking if I would be interested in working with Koogar. I need some work experience for my degree and saw this as an opportunity. I applied because I want to work in advertising and marketing and this is what Koogar does, but you wouldn’t be able to tell from the website…

My role model would be Phil Neville (Everton football player) because I saw an interview with him and he was talking about how much football means to the fans. He works for charities as well. He may not be the best footballer, but he does a lot behind the scenes which helps others and sometimes it goes unnoticed. He helps mature other team players and he also came from a bigger team, Manchester United which is a bit of a step down.

I inspire to work for someone else and be successful. “I’m not cut out to run my own business..” It might be too much financially.

Success to me… Hmm… Happy in work and express myself outside of work financially and socially. If I can do that “Id be pretty happy!”

You only live once!” is probably my favourite quote. You should go for it! Its always been said to me, might be by my Nan and I have taken it on board…

We are looking forward to working with Jonathan over the next 6 months and cannot wait to show you the work he does for us! Keep your eye out for updated websites and case studies!
